Thought i post up some things from work. Never really went in depth with my profession, but i'm a diesel technician by day, and a metal fabricator by night!! haha!
The company (fleet) i work for just brought a hand full of fully loaded International Pro Star tractors. There a heavy spec model built for hauling some of the 60,000 pound plus loads.....i.e bricks, clay as well as propane tankers....etc. Me personally, not a big fan on these trucks. Throughout the years, never really liked the product, build quality and down time are a big no no in the trucking industry, and these things are known for there failures. Caterpillar teamed up with International when they pulled out of the heavy duty truck engine industry a couple years ago, but now CAT is bringing out there own line up of heavy vocational trucks, branded the CT660, but that's another story. Theses Pro Stars come with MaxxForce 13 engines, pretty much a CAT built bottom end, using a NaviStar head, slap it together and you have a MaxxForce engine. Navistar owns International., just like the old Ford PowerStroke's back in the day......I've personally always been a Mack, Volvo and Western Star kinda guy.....Especially with the Detroit Diesel Series 60......Almost 4 decades of using the same engine, and with minimal changes, if i had a Western Star, it would have a mean 60 in her...Once again, back on topic...They brought the new units, and i have to do a pre delivery inspection on them, as well as install a hydraulic power take off, and pump assembly.....After that, another tech looks after the rest..... Here's some pics taken with the best quality....the shitty IPhone!
my office!
