Thought i'd quickly give the news. Volvo Trucks has done it again in Europe with now the most powerful truck in the world.....To make a long story short, a couple of years ago Volvo came out with there brand new Volvo FH16. This was marked the most powerful truck in the world with 700 horse power and 3,150 Nm of torque (don't know the conversion). Recently, Scania came along and brought the new R730 to the market with 730 horse power and 3,500 Nm of torque, pretty much throwing Volvo's D16 engine out the door. Now, just recently, Volvo is back in first place yet again with 750 horse power and 3,550 Nm of torque.....So i guess it's really your preference on what you want, Volvo's inline 6 beast, or Scania's massive V8 monster...take a look for yourself.
I'll have a full in depth report on Volvo's new engine.
When it comes down to it, i'll stick to the Volvo, even though I've never touched anything V8 in heavy equipment, i know Volvo, work on Volvo, and was taught on Volvo. The only question is who will be next to conquer the arms race?
