Thought to do an update from work again.....So pretty much your looking at a shunt truck. Only purpose of these junk boxes is too haul trailers around quickly, nothing else....couple days back a fire broke out in the battery box, someone decided to run smaller battery cable than recommended......So what i did was run a new ground from the starter housing to the battery, another chassis ground to the battery and finally a ground that goes from the Allison Automatic to the battery again......After trying and trying to start the truck, she just would not budge. So a little help from ether (quick start) and we managed to get er' running. After that though, heavy and i'm talking heavy white smoke starting coming from the stack......
It was funny cause prior to the truck coming in, the retard driver mentioned that 8 liters of oil magically disappeared and he had to refill it.........we began to think that something was gonna grenade and quick...After that heavy shot of ether, the turbo must have taken a shitter, causing oil to travel from the turbo threw the intercooler, into the intake manifold and back out to the turbine side of the turbo charger.....i had a huge grin on my face......just pretty cool to imagine what just happened! on top of that, after turning the engine off, taking a look at what happened, then trying to start it again, oil obviously entered the cylinders and basically caused a hydraulic lock, truck hasn't started since........
These shunts have 3 batteries....running all new battery cable
here's the thick ground wire we ran.......65 lbs of wire!
This pipe in the picture is the output pipe after the compressor side of the turbo, as you can see that's a hell of alot of oil!
output pipe
After the output pipe, there's a rubber boot which than goes to the intercooler.......shit loads of oil!
Finally, here's a picture of the CAT engine.....can't remember what model it is.....C7 maybe?? anyways, pretty bitchin' day!
