Nothin' but oil an smoke!

Thought to do an update from work again.....So pretty much your looking at a shunt truck. Only purpose of these junk boxes is too haul trailers around quickly, nothing else....couple days back a fire broke out in the battery box, someone decided to run smaller battery cable than recommended......So what i did was run a new ground from the starter housing to the battery, another chassis ground to the battery and finally a ground that goes from the Allison Automatic to the battery again......After trying and trying to start the truck, she just would not budge. So a little help from ether (quick start) and we managed to get er' running. After that though, heavy and i'm talking heavy white smoke starting coming from the stack......

It was funny cause prior to the truck coming in, the retard driver mentioned that 8 liters of oil magically disappeared and he had to refill it.........we began to think that something was gonna grenade and quick...After that heavy shot of ether, the turbo must have taken a shitter, causing oil to travel from the turbo threw the intercooler, into the intake manifold and back out to the turbine side of the turbo charger.....i had a huge grin on my face......just pretty cool to imagine what just happened! on top of that, after turning the engine off, taking a look at what happened, then trying to start it again, oil obviously entered the cylinders and basically caused a hydraulic lock, truck hasn't started since........

These shunts have 3 batteries....running all new battery cable

here's the thick ground wire we ran.......65 lbs of wire!
This pipe in the picture is the output pipe after the compressor side of the turbo, as you can see that's a hell of alot of oil!

output pipe
After the output pipe, there's a rubber boot which than goes to the intercooler.......shit loads of oil!
Finally, here's a picture of the CAT engine.....can't remember what model it is.....C7 maybe?? anyways, pretty bitchin' day!

Some good watches from Motor Trend

Just watched both of the videos and i'm pretty impressed with them. It's good to see big time magazine editors (like Motor Trend) to go behind scene's with the aftermarket industry. The first video is all about Hot Rods and Lowriders and the origins of that culture & style......That's a little more known than what the second video is about. The new style of the import guys-"hellaFlush" is sweeping North America and the world with insane offset rims and cars that are barely derivable! but with just the rite touch in suspension set up, i can give some respect for the Honda & Nissan guys!

But still, at the end of the day, i'd much prefer to build a sled or 55' Chev' Gasser than a Honda!

Charger SRT8 straight pipes

Speechless.......

Tuesday nite-eerrr'....

The bible just came in, all 730 pages of very useful information in regards to SCCA Club Racing general competition, and rules & regulations.....Were not basing the car on any league specific, but building something this big, you should generally follow a guideline!

New home!!

SO, couple weeks ago, boys an I were hangin' round Canadian Tire and came across there biggest tool box going for 75% off! well long story short, went home, picked up the Max, and brought my new home away from home for work! This son bitch is HUGE! More space equals more tools rite?!?! LOL

Check er' out!

Spring Cleaning!

Lately, it seems like old man winter pussy'd out the last couple months.....Seeing 15C plus temperatures in mid March can only mean one thing, and that is the return of project Hero! I have a big update, so i'll get started!

As per the title, we began the nasty job of removing the old under coat. this shit gets everywhere, but we have to get rid of it due to the fact that we have to see whats solid metal, to whats rotten cheese. We managed to get the bottom frame rails done, and the drivers side front wheel well. Luckily, there's nothing but solid metal there so were good to go! But we did find some good old fiberglass in the rear. Both rear wheel wells are for the most part, fiberglass, so were now thinking a set of mini tubs might do the trick. Also, tearing into the rocker's again and were finding nothing but rust, so those are going to have to be rebuilt again with new metal.

Some shots of the passenger side front wheel well. As you can see, there's quit a lot of undercoating. We managed to get most of the undercoating off on the drivers side, here's some before and after shots

After shots on the drivers side. As you can see, nothing but good old solid metal!

Drivers side rear part of the rocker, nothing but cheese!

Overall the car's coming along. With the nice weather and a little free time, the Lola is getting cleaned up now that were getting rid of the under coating.
