Hey all, haven't posted in a while so thought i give another big update. So, after we saw that the car was swiz cheese, along came the big tear down. Everything that we managed to get off the car, we did. The new plan now was to find everything that was rust on the car, and pretty much attack it with new sheet metal. This was back in March of 2010. I can't believe how time flies, now its already fall again, time to get the garage heater out again! Here's a bunch of pictures i shot of operation "tear down" ahaha......First things first, time to get the old gal back out....by the time we use the crane to throw an engine back in, it wont be a small Toyota that powers this beut! Next.......time to yank everything else.
Here's Mr. Toyota Tech hard at work!
The 4AG came out with no problems. We managed to yank the engine and trans as one, so it was alot easier.

Just thought to post some quick pictures of a recent build that i am following on Pro-Touring.com. Also can see this build on Speed's Chop Cut Rebuild. Restoring a 1969 Dodge Charger matching numbers car....From what they started with to what they ended up with is amazing, alot of blood and sweet in this one! I keep reminding myself if i think i have it bad with the Lola, imagine what these guys went through!

Here's a pretty big update. Once the 4AG got into the engine bay, (and after hammering the firewall), i began tearing the inside out, stripping all the weight possible out of the car. Unfortunately, we came across a somewhat of a big problem. we found holes, and quite a lot of em'. Not realizing what we had until the carpets came out, we new this may turn into more of a problem if we don't act on it now......After long decisions on what to do with the car, we decided to deal with it. The rust was bad, but salvageable, plus after all, we do have one of the most legendary Japanese domestic cars out there! Don't really have any serious pictures of the rust, but the rear quarter fenders have to be rebuilt (all fiber glass!!) the rear shock towers are decent, but need to be beefed up, the drivers side rear rocker panel is completely swiz cheese from the front were the steering wheel is to the back where the rear fender begins......The good news is that the complete front half of the car is amazing (except the firewall! heehe) This generation of Corolla is known for there rocker panels to rust out, luckily we have a welder by trade in the shop! We also found small holes around the fuel cell area, rear trunk, and spare tire dish, thats gonna be cut out anyways.
Here's a shot of the drivers rear fender. As you can tell, nothing but fiber glass holding her down.

Now, back on topic. After we got settled in with the new crib in all, we managed to find a 94' Toyota corolla which was caged and most importantly, had a 4AG 20 valve in it. The newer lola was kind of a ride off, so as soon as we yanked the 4AG, we got rid of it. Next plan was to find the T50 trans, luckily the guy had one too. Here she is with a set of ITB's. A work of beauty...As soon as we had some time, we pulled the shitty carb out and began putting the 20 valve in. All together, remembering back then, i think we payed bout 400 for the engine, trans, itb's, ECU and harness. what a steel!

Lets take a little detour, a blast to the past. Already bringing back great memories of Curt's first car, his 99' Honda civic SIR. This was the car that started it all for us. The long 8 years we had this thing, you can say it was a pretty bitchin' car......for a Honda! hehe. Here's some pics from back in the days
Thanks to Xavier photography for the pictures
Back in 2007, nothing really happened with the car cause we were in the process of moving. Did not want to start something, then end up getting screwed not being able to move the car. So off to the new place, and once again, back roads at night with no plates. This time though, we had brakes. As soon as we got settled, we parked the car and she kinnda just sat there...... Here's some pics with the nasty carb in her
Hey there, well i'm gonna start diggin' in the crates and begin the already long journey of the Corolla. Before i get started, all the work that i'm gonna view was in the past. i'll eventually post up the "current" phase of this peach. Just a little history on this girl, we found her for 2,500 dollars cash, and picked it up on the spot. Brakes were pretty much shot, so had fun drivin' her back with no plates or brakes. Kind of ironic, saw another red one exactly like ours.....haha. Here's the night we brought her home.... This was back in 2007. This was back rite before the "scene" literally blew up. Everyone either watched Fast and Furious to much, or saw a lowered Honda with underglow, and thought it was cool.
